Dec. Board Meeting Upcoming

Good Evening Cedarhurst Residents!

Hope you are well and enjoying the holiday season as much as I am.

Our next board meeting will be held on Thursday December 16th, 6:15 pm at the Newtown Library @ 25 Main Street.

As always any member is welcome to listen in to the meeting and voice any comments or concerns. We do limit each member comment to 3 minutes.

We ask anyone not vaccinated to please wear a mask.

The December Agenda should be posted to our website in the next day or two. Please visit: https://cedarhurstct.org/

I would like to share the following with you.

Board Challenges and Thank Yous:

The transition from our past board to the new board has been challenging since this is the first time many of us have ever held such positions and learning the meeting process and order rules will take time. Having virtual meetings created added obstacles for all of us already uncomfortable in this role. I personally would like to thank Mary Ann Jacob who has help me understand the order of meetings and how to put Robert’s Rule’s of Order into action. I am documenting all my learning so I can pass this on to a future president to make the transition a bit smoother and less overwhelming. I would like to thank my board for all their time and effort they put into the betterment of this association. I understand most of us have full time jobs, family and responsibilities. Your spare time to this association is truly appreciated and does not go unnoticed.

Because of the challenges the board has had we have not approved any of the board meeting minutes as of yet which is why they have not been posted to our website. Again please be patient with the board and we promise to get the minutes posted to the website once they get approved, hopefully in this upcoming meeting.

Thank you, Ray Deluca, for braving the cold with me stringing the holiday lights at the new Mailbox Pavilion. Seeing those lights as I drive into our community remind me that the holidays and every day should be about community, compassion and unity. It also reminds me of National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.

Mailboxes: The mailbox committee met  recently to finalize all the details of the new Mailboxes. This was a huge project and a costly one but it will be the focal point when entering our community for years to come. An email will go out the week of December 20th with full details. Thank you for your patience as we work out all the details.

Sincerely,
Christopher Pace
President – Cedarhurst Association, Inc.
